Company Settings
Updating your company's name, address, banking display info, check numbering, and payroll approval policy
Go to Settings → Company to update your company's identity, address, banking display information, check numbering, and payroll approval policy. This tab is sometimes still called "General" in older materials, but there's no tab named that in the product today — the current Settings tabs are Me, Company, Chart of accounts, Team, Activity, and Pricing. If you're looking for a "General" tab, click Company instead.
Anyone on your company's Team can open and edit Settings — see Team for who that is.
This page covers ongoing edits after your company is already up and running. The one-time, reviewed setup wizard new companies complete before Greenroom approves them to run payroll is a separate flow — see Company Setup.
Company & show
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Company name | Required. Appears on reports, exports, and payee onboarding. |
| Show name | Optional (e.g., "The Lantern Room"). Shown alongside the company name wherever both are displayed. |
| FEIN | Your federal Employer Identification Number. Type digits only — Greenroom formats it to XX-XXXXXXX as you type. |
| Address | Start typing and choose from the autocomplete suggestions; City, State, and ZIP fill in automatically from your selection. You can still edit City, State, and ZIP by hand afterward. |
There is no Entity Type, LLC Tax Classification, Phone Number, or Production Start/End Date field on this page — if older documentation or training materials mention those, they no longer match the product.
Banking & checks
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Bank name | Display only. |
| Bank account (last 4) | Display only — shown on payment summaries. |
| Pay frequency | Weekly, Biweekly, Semimonthly, or Monthly. |
| Check start number | The number physical checks start counting up from. |
Banking fields here are display only
Bank name and account-last-4 on this page are for reference and reporting — editing them here does not move, redirect, or reconnect anyone's actual payment. Real bank connection and disbursement run through Greenroom's payroll-processing partner once it's connected. A payee's own bank details (for their direct deposit) live on that payee's record, not here — see Payment Details.
Pay frequency here is also informational, not a production schedule control: it tells Greenroom's payroll-processing partner your enrollment cadence. Greenroom itself always processes payroll weekly, regardless of what's selected here.
Company & show and Banking & checks share one save bar at the bottom of the page. Edit any field on either card and a Save / Cancel bar appears; Save applies every changed field across both cards at once, and Cancel reverts everything back to what was last saved.
Payroll approvals
A separate card, Payroll approvals, controls dual approval — an internal control requiring a second person to sign off on a payroll run before it can be submitted:
- On (the default): every payroll run needs approval from two different people on your team — and neither of them can be whoever prepared the run — before it can be submitted. Editing a run after it's been approved resets its approvals, so a late change means collecting sign-off again.
- Off: a single person can prepare and submit a run alone. Turn this off for a one-person production where a second approver isn't realistic.
Unlike the fields above, this is a toggle switch, not a form field — flipping it takes effect immediately (you'll see a confirmation toast), with no separate Save step.
Next Steps
